What is PFAS?

On this page we explain what PFAS in your backyard means for your health.

PFAS are thousands of man-made chemicals that barely break down. They have spread across the whole world and are now found in nature and in our bodies. Too much PFAS can make you ill. Not all long-term effects are known yet.

What can I do myself?

You don't need to be a scientist to understand that chemicals which barely break down and spread everywhere are a problem. If a hen can start the conversation about PFAS, so can you. Inform yourself, come to a screening of Niet Pluis and talk about it in your own circle: at home, at work and on social media. Ask questions, share what you know and speak up. Because change begins with starting the conversation.
